This area belongs to the Tanjung Puting National Park (TNTP) located in Kumi District, Kotawaringin Barat. One way to enjoy the beauty along the Sekonyer River channel is by riding the Klotok boat.

Klotok Boat is a traditional Kalimantan boat made of wood. This boat has various types and sizes. For people or tourists who want to visit Tanjung Puting National Park or just along the Sekonyer River, you can use the Klotok boat that is rented by the tour operator in West Kotawaringin, Central Kalimantan.

This boat has a room to sleep, bathroom, kitchen, and dining room, and a seat in front to relax and a seat behind the boat (viewing deck) to enjoy the view around the Sekonyer River.

Once it began to enter the national park and the forest, the cellphone signal or other gadgets did not exist and disappeared. But, don’t worry, you will not get bored during the trip. Because, you will be presented with a very beautiful view! You can while taking pictures, sunbathing, seeing the nature around, or reading a book.

During the trip we all saw a variety of animal activities, if you are lucky you will see Bekantan who is sitting on a tree branch while eating fruit. Some bird perched on a tree branch. Anyway, even though we millennials everywhere have to hold gadgets, we all enjoy the trip without focusing on each other’s gadgets. And, of course you can find various Klotok passing by who are bringing foreign tourists.

Arriving at Camp Leakey, Tanjung Puting National Park We all got down from klotok and walked into the camp and saw the Orangutan feeding area. To go to orangutan feeding or feeding areas, we have to walk about 2 kilometers. Oh yes, in this Leakey Camp, Orangutans are fed by their officers at 3:00 pm

Towards night, we all returned to Klotok and hurried to return along the Sekonyer River and overnight at Pondok Ambung. That night, the sky was full of stars. So, we all don’t need to use lights that are bright enough because the light from the stars is enough to inhabit our night. Dinner together is quite romantic, because we all eat together accompanied by candles and starlight and delicious dishes.

Light from the sun shining through the bushes greeted us, in the morning. And, we all began our journey back to Kumai.
