My friend and I were travelling Indonesia and another friend from university, who now lives in Jakarta, recommended Be Borneo. I then initiated communications with Indra who was very responsive with his e-mails and it made the process of booking the tour straightforward.
We were collected at the airport by a taxi driver who drove us to our boat, called ‘Spirit’. The crew on the boat were helpful and friendly, especially Budi who was our guide. He has a good knowledge of the area and the orangutans, even knowing the names they have been given such as Percy etc! There was a cook as part of the crew and she cooked some delicious snacks and meals.
If there are any negatives, it would be the basic toilet and shower where there is not much room to manoeuvre (although I appreciate this is Borneo, so it’s not going to be like staying in a hotel!) However, you will want to have a shower after sweating in the rainforest and dripping with sun tan lotion and mosquito repellant! Also, come prepared with your own umbrella as we experienced the most torrential downpour on the second day and ended up being drenched.
All in all, we were satisfied with the tour and we would certainly recommend Be Borneo and the 3 Days 2 Nights tour to anybody considering venturing to Borneo and seeing orangutans in the wild.
